A Nice Way to Launch our Brand New Lancashire Event Photography Service!
This was my first stint doing Lancashire Event Photography, commissioned to help with the Oliver’s Neuroblastoma Appeal at the last minute. Therefore the brief was to just take pictures and awareness could be raised on social media.
An ideal test run for us with some new photography studio gear, so we accepted. The evening itself was cursed from the beginning. My trusted right hand man fell ill with the flu and there were the usual new equipment complications. With my wife heroically stepping in, we were able to get the ball rolling.
We set up the portable studio in the corner of the function room – the far corner might I add. Not great for carrying a very heavy printer and other cumbersome objects. So heavy in fact, that I did my back in!
Glitch item number one: buy a trolley for future events!
Once everyone had wined and dined, I set about my usual documentary photography round the guests. My wife also went about encouraging people to come over to the portable studio for some nice photos.
Once alcohol fuelled Dutch courage had set in, people warily started to come over and I got to work. When the photos I had taken started to circulate, the buzz started. I wasn’t some useless lump sat in the corner after all! Steadily the numbers increased and things started to flow.
I photographed couples and even groups. I am still fascinated that we managed to cram 15 ladies in to one area barely 2 metres square!
We kept the routine going until the last man had left at 1am. Then there was the joy of packing up and collapsing at home.
For our first Lancashire Event Photography gig and despite the troubles that conspired to defeat our efforts, the evening gave us overwhelmingly good feedback.
So starts another chapter in the history of Chris Wright Photography!
The event photography that I will cover can be anything from animals to dance competitions to black tie dinners and parties, just give me a call!
